 Join campus president, Dr. Larry Rice, along with faculty and staff for the annual opening dinner. Be sure to wear slip-resistant shoes as you will be walking throughout the culinary kitchens to taste special selections for a few of JWU's top culinary instructors. 

Saturday, October 20:

Take a student-led tour of Johnson & Wales University's beautiful North Miami campus to see where your Wildcat lives, learns and prepares for a professional career. 

  • Culinary and Baking & Pastry Courses @11:00 a.m. | $10

 Join expert chefs in a fun, hands-on cooking class and experience the fun of preparing your own treats with the entire family.  

  • Wine Tasting Course @11:00 a.m. | $10

Whether you are hoping to gain a working knowledge of wine or simply sitting back to add to your already cemented oenophile status, immerse yourself in reds and whites from around the world. 

  • Painting with a Twist @2:00 p.m. | $10

A Family Weekend signature event, enjoy this family-friendly guided painting session while master instructor and studio owner, David Sexton, helps you paint a masterpiece!

  • Jungle Queen Riverboat Dinner Cruise @6:00 p.m. (returning at 11:00 p.m.) | $25

Fully narrated cruise down the "Venice of America," Fort Lauderdale's New River, sailing through Millionaire's Row with homes of the Rich and Famous, spectacular Mega Yachts, and sights beyond belief. When you arrive at our tropical isle, you'll be treated to an All-You-Can-Eat Dinner featuring barbecue baby back ribs, barbecue chicken, peel & eat shrimp and all the fixin's. Live entertainment during dinner, and a laugh out loud variety show after dinner.

Sunday, October 21:

  • Sunrise Kayaking @8:00 a.m. | $10

Experience an early morning kayak through the beautiful mangrove forest preservation of South Florida at Oleta River State Park. Vans will depart from the Wildcat Center at 7:45 a.m.
